I have an interview Tuesday evening with Williams-Sonoma. It is an open house interview, they are hiring for a brand new store. On the phone, the hiring manager said that it is a very casual interview. What would be appropriate attire?

I was planning on wearing a pair of black slacks from Express with some black boots. I'm not sure what kind of shirt to wear though. I think a black jacket would be to formal, and I don't feel comfortable wearing them. What kind of top should I wear?

you could do a nice button down top maybe in white with a scarf at the neck or something. That's what all the people there usually wear at the store. I don't think the jacket would be too formal. WS is a very conservative preppy/business environment. and it is better to over dress than under dress.

do not wear jeans as the other poster suggested. Jeans are never appropriate for any interview.

You probably don't need to go with a jacket but definately a white blouse. Even if it is casual, first impression means everything and they do not want someone who is not going to be a good representative of their store.

I would wear the slacks with a dress shirt, or some jeans with a dress shirt, or some capris/ bermuda shorts with a dress shirt.

I'm justa kid, but my mom used to work there, but now she owns her own company as a chef. I would recammend a button up shirt, some skinny jeans and 2 inch heels. Hope this helps
