on the Global Corruption Index, a survey of 133 nations conducted by Transparency International (an anti-graft watchdog). A score of 10 means a country is seen as being 'highly clean', and a score of zero means 'highly corrupt.'

"we are not now nor have we ever been a Cristian nation"
That quote is from the treaty of triply, the first international treaty the USA ever ratified (100% in the senate) Our founding fathers never wanted to start a nation based on religion. It was not until the early 1900s when the christians started taking over the goverment and trying to rewrite history to make us look like the christian version of the middle east!

Finland is selection a million because of the socialism thought we've, it rather is sturdy right here. it isn't very apprecieted that for the duration of Finland you brag inclusive of your secural possessions, you would be seen as an excellent time fool in case you probably did it right here. What i'm asserting is that Finnish human beings are not that lots after of money, we adore the socialism right here. because of the fact of it there are purely some who're rather wealthy, yet we haven't any undesirable human beings. all people is midsection-type. So there is not any opposition, and all people is chuffed, as a result corruption isn't mandatory. and because usa is quite capitalist us of a there is somewhat some opposition; there are some people who might do something to get to the suitable. i'm no longer asserting that socialism is larger than capitalism, it works otherwise on each us of a; i'm exceptionally specific capitalism does no longer artwork right here in Finland. A small edit: over ninety% of the folk in Finland are christians, so i do no longer think of faith has something to do with corruption.

I guess this points out the big difference between words and deeds.

People can claim to be Christian all they want, but if their behaviour isn't consistent with that, then they're arguably less moral than people who don't claim to have the high ground to begin with.

To assess Christian behaviour (as distinct from words), we should look at things like:
1. Treatment of poor people
2. Sharing of wealth & possessions
3. Willingness to forgive and forget
4. Tolerance and compassion for others who may be different.

How do YOU think the USA stacks up on those measures?

I always wonder about polls like this that are reliant upon vague metrics that can be highly subjective.

HOWEVER

Perhaps you're unacquainted with the present occupant in the White House and his regime selections?

Alberto Gonzales heading the Justice Department.
John Bolton our former UN representative.
Karl Rove up until recently a close Presidential advisor.

The present resident of 1600 Pennsylvania was elected by a huge voting block of "Christian" voters.

Given the present orgy of corporatism and capitalism playing itself out, I think it's a miracle we aren't any lower on the list.

And then there's the rampant corruption taking place as part of our trumped-up war in Iraq...don't get me started.

take a look at scandanavians for one second...

they are wealthy, they life a good lifestyle and they are all white.

The U.S. has the highest crime rates in the world but is highly diverse. You could not label the U.S. a christian country.

We are a christian nation is the sense that people love to say it, but not practice it. A christian nation would not have imported slaves, exterminated the indians, slaughtered the passenger pigeons... There is very seldom anything Christian about most christians. They are windbags and hypocrites. And they are very annoying.

It just goes to show that religion has nothing to do with morality.

In fact, in a way, it shows that atheists are more virtuous because they can behave well WITHOUT having to fear a malevolent god.

Sadly, people don't know what a Christian Nation means. We don't allow prayer or any kind of talk about God in our school. With no God we get no morals which means corrupt. It is sad. We are not a Christian Nation unfortunately.
