It's really a disgusting exploitation of people's faith. Separation of Church and State protects government from religion and religion from government. One need only look back to when Constantine, the Roman emperor co-opted Christianity and made it the national religion of Rome. He did so not because he believed in Jesus and his teachings, but because he wanted to remain in power. Those who don't remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Of course, he has to, he's a Republican.

The Republican party has been polluted by the religious right.

The religious right is the number one detriment to the advancement and growth of America.

The religious right is powerful in this country and makes up a great portion of the republican demographic. He can not win if he doesn't. It comes with the territory of being a republican candidate.

What I hate more then anything though is how he is playing the morals and values card after cheating on his wife.

Almost all of the Presidential Candidates are pandering to the Born Agains. Anything goes when it comes to trying to get some votes.

Of course he is pandering. it is what Rudy does. Have you heard him make himself out to be the hero of 9-11? He has the balls to say he did more then the FDNY?

Ask any of us who lived in New York under the Rudy SS we all hated him.

A LOT of leaders have done this. Unfortunately, pandering to people's religious beliefs gets politicians elected, so they're going to keep doing it.

Yes he is-but that is typical republican tactics-act interested in them until the election is over. I think it is more telling that so many of the candidates are missing debates that are in regards to minority issues. This sends a clear message that the republican party is not interested in them at all. At least they are finally being honest in that regard..........gotta give credit where credit is due.......lol.

Yes and I think he is wasting his time. With his personal and political past the religious right will never support Rudy.

well ... the neo-conservative Christian right is his only chance at getting elected, so it stands to reason ... which is bizarre to me, because Giuliani is basically a fiscally liberal democrat pretending to be a republican
