Why not? A good surgeon is still a good surgeon regardless of his/her political preference. You don't have to cancel your surgery just because you disagree with a doctor's comments regarding President Bush.

Reagan didn't mind that his surgeon operating on him after the assassination attempt was a Democrat. how are you going to know anyway ask them right before they put you under , because that will be about the first time you ever see a surgeon

There would be no way if I know he was Republican , they want tell you. I was talking to my Doctor and I said something about Bush and told me , I"m not going to talk politics with you.

It is getting really bad in this country when you ask if someone is capable of doing their job based on their political beliefs
Why don't you just ask if a colored, women, gay, religious, rich, poor, ect, ect person can do their job.

It never occurred to me to ask my Dr. about his political views. I do want to know if he is a good Dr.and if he is then I don't care who he or she votes for.

I don't see what the Doc's politics would have to do with his/her surgical skills. If he/she is the most qualified doctor I could find, sure I would.
