Is it just me, or does anyone else think they (Squaresoft) should re-make both Final Fantasy 4 and 6 with today's advanced graphics. They should have the same story and same characters and same names and same everything, only re-make the game with today's graphics.

I'm talking about the FF4 (The one with Cecil, Kain, Golbez) and FF6 (With Kefka, Terra, Sabin, ect.)

Even tho FF4 and FF6 have to be the Jap versions since there's is no FF4 and FF6 US (They're known as FF2 & FF3), may wanna have had clarified that anyways.

I too would like to see a revamp of FF4 and FF6, but deep down, I'm willing to bet it ain't gonna happen. At least not anytime soon. Perhaps many many years from now
PROS:
-those were VERY popular games, as they had ports/remakes to PS1 and GBA.
-do what Chrono Trigger got fo PS. Encyclopedias (for tiems, weapons, armors, monsters, etc.), and added anime' like FMV cutscenes

CONS:
-I'm sure Square has ALOT of current projects that take precedence. FF14 is what they're on now AFAIK, keeping FFXI fresh with patches, expansions, and OL content, and that's not counting whatever non Final Fantasy wrok theyv'e got going
-FF4 & FF6 are originally 2d. At most 2d that looks kinda 3d (2.5dimensional?). Giving a graphical boost doesn't seem to accomplish that much more since the origina graphics were nice to begin with.
-FF4 & FF6 are so ubiquitous, dunno if the fans will get it for yet another platform.

I've never played FF4, but I adored FF6. FF6 is my 2nd favorite FF game. I loved the story and the characters, especially Terra. And Kefka was the best FF villian of all time. I'd love to see a remake of this game with PS3 graphics, that would be incredible.

They've already done Final Fantasy III J-Type for the DS, and from what I hear, they are almost done coding an updated Final Fantasy IV for the DS. I am pretty happy about it - I just hope they make it so magic is useful again.

In the DS version of Final Fantasy III, Area Effect spells aren't terribly useful because there are at most 4 enemies on screen at the same time, and given the right party set-up, you should have little problem with killing all 4 of them more quickly physically.

Well, I'm not sure about Final Fantasy 6. They came out with a gameboy advance version of it but the graphics aren't better. But FF 4. They are going to re-make. They have the advance version but they're making a Nintendo DS version of FF 4. The new DS version's going to be in full 3-D and it's going to have a voice cast. Everyone's actually going to talk instead of having to read everything. There's no set release date for it but I think it's coming out around Christmas in Japan which mean it will come to America about probably march...ish. Just so you know.

Well that'd be pretty sweety, but what Final Fantasy 4 and 6 are you talking about? The Japanese version or the English version? Because Final Fantasy 2 (American) is 4 (Japanese/Nippon) and 3 (American) is 6 (Japanese/Nippon) It would be nice though

No. I'm tired of remakes. Stop wasting manpower on stuff I've already played and give me something new to play.
