I have been a mom for 28 years to 4 kids, I am a grandma to a 5 1/2 month old grandson plus I have been a child care provider in my home for 20 years. "Games" is a pretty broad term and you are right that a baby younger than 3 months is pretty limited in what they can do. Interaction better describes what you do with a baby this young. One of the things a baby is really developing, is their sense of sight. Babies love to look at faces more than any other object. One of the things you can do with a baby this age is lay them on the floor on a blanket or put them in an infant seat. Position your face about 12 inches from the baby's then move your face slowly from side-to-side across her line of vision. She will be able to follow your face part of the time at first, but will get better as she gets older. It may not really be a game, but it is something you can do to interact with the baby. An important thing to remember at this age is a baby's head still needs support so most games such as "airplane" or "horsey rides" are not yet appropriate. Truthfully, I have been in the "baby business" for quite some time and I don't think I can come up with 4 "games" to play with an infant. You can play "bicycle" with a baby this young. Lay the baby down on the floor or a bed and move his legs like he is riding a bicycle. This actually is helpful if a baby has gas. I am very curious to know what your teacher considers to be infant games. Let us know what she approves for this assignment! Add it to the comments when you pick the best answer. ADDED: Just as an important comment, do not do baby sit-ups until the baby has good head control, which generally is around 3-4 months. If the head is still floppy it needs to be supported at all times.

First of all, your teacher should know that technically, a game is a give and take activity. Most babies at that age are too young to play true games. So, it sounds like your teacher is looking for an activity? Could you do a hand-over-hand activity with the baby...such as playing a keyboard....singing while you help the baby do the motions....putting the baby on tummy and place an object in front of them them to grab...Good luck!

Pass the Parcel ( using baby as parcel) Taste the Difference ( start breastfeeding then swap for a bottle) How am I doin?? Blindmans Bluff ( put on blindfold then change nappy on baby Hide and seek ( leave baby lying on floor then go and hide) when baby starts crying, you've won! I hope these give you some ideas on how not to take what I've just said too seriously.

We do sit ups - baby laying on their back, grab both hands and slowly pull them up - helps develop neck and back strength.

Peek a boo

Tummy time, place them on their tummy and encourage them to lift their head.

Babies this age do not play games, they have no concept of the idea. You do things like walk around and show them new things, lay them on their back and move their legs and arms around, let them stare at a mobile or a mirror for as long as they are content doing that, give them zerberts.

Good luck

1.hold an object in front of their eyes and wait for them to focus on it, then slowly move it back and forth so they follow it with their eyes.
2. Hold an object in front of them so they can try to reach for it
Uh...I can't think of anymore right now Sorry.
