Clear Plan/Blue easy monitor question? I am in first cycle using monitor. Of course yesterday was 2 bars, but?

when I turned it on today I got !(with brush) I cleaned it with damp Q-tip and still showing. I called the help # and they said they would send me stuff to send it in for repair, but that really leaves me hanging for this month. I have been TTC for 5yrs and Every month seems like forever. I know I can just go get OPK untill I get my monitor back, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a way to fix it themselves? I already change batteries.

The only other thing I can think of would be to reset the monitor, but that will still leave you hanging for this cycle, so sorry.
