Women are more fullfilled because they do more. (sorry guys)
Men are happy because they have more time to play. (Oooo, I am really going to get it!)

Tough question again....don't you ever just sit back and type nonsense?
Men: Happier in their sixties probably, have less responsibility for they have learned to let loose of a lot of things...women have been trained to do their thing far too long and have more problems letting go. AND, women's happiness, I am sure, has to be hampered if their husband has retired and is around day in and day out...that would be hard to take for anyone.
BUT, as men grow older, they lose "happy cells" (scientific studies, certain part of the brain relates to "happy," and this part starts to shrink with age....oops! another happy cell just died!
Women, I suspect, are happier in later life than men (there are a lot of very grouchy old men out there, face it).
By and large, I suspect this is an individual thing.. I do not believe a person who has been happy their entire lives will suddenly turn unhappy, and vice versa.
Good luck and peace, goldwing

Of course it depends upon the individual but it's been my experience that the women I know are happier. I think it may have to do with the fact that women are generally, more verbal. We get things out in the open and off our chests.
The men I know (my husband included) tend to stress over things that they can't change. The majority of men I know keep things pretty bottled up because it's not considered "manly" to complain.

Actually, I have an answer for this question according to my point of veiw. No one is happy in all over the globe. I mean, I could be happy now because I did something that made me happy or someone else did the same to me. Breifly, nobody is happy all the time, so there is no difference netween men and women. Both of them could be happy now and sad after a moment. This is what I have for this question. I am sorry, I answered the question breifly because if you want to answer it, it may take several pages and lots of time without getting into any result.

That's a tough one. Men are fixers and see life as a series of problems to be solved. Women are more likely to look beneath the surface, and relate to feelings. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Problems arise when one is only happy when the other one is as well. No-one should rely on another person for their own happiness. Anyone notice that no men have answered so far?

Neither Men nor women are happier. Happy is a subjective state of mind relative to particular circumstances and events.

Based on the piece I just read in Y!News...men are happier - but then that didn't surprise me! LOL
Seems as if women spreading their proverbial wings into 'bigger and better' pursuits while retaining their other 'expected' responsibilities has led to less day to day satisfaction; while men have held on to the expectations of career and part time Dad and sometimes helper in the home! lol....or so the article states.
There study-findings found women to be less 'happy' - i.e., satisfied..........primarily because women's lists of things to do lengthened as they had less time to take care of ALL that was now on their 'plates'.
Personally? I believe happiness is relative and is what you make it and what you decide each day, moment will be. As I age, I am less and less desirous of people, places and things that rock my peaceful boat!

In my own experience men are generally happier. They deal with stress better and are happy with less than women are.

Gender is not an important factor in happiness. Happiness comes from a persons own take on there life and feelings. Each individual persons environment conditions, health, and social interactions will help define a persons happiness.
