not automatically but most employers will pay a little more if you use your own tools or vehicle

Too funny - an interesting concept though!

No you do not "automatically" get double the minimum wage, but the cost and maintenance of your tools does become tax deductible.

No. It is a job requirement with no extra in pay. Lube "techs" are not considered mechanics and are normally paid minimum wage.

No, if the job requires you have your own tools so be it, just one of the conditions of employment. Just because someone has a tool kit doesn't mean they're a craftsman. You have to know how to use them.
