okay, so i'm on ae.com looking for jeans, and i'm at the size chart. my waist measures 29, and my hips measure 36. i fall into the medium 8-10 category according to my waist size, but then i fall into the extra small 0-2 according to my hips size.

what the hell do i do with this information?? what actual size am i supposed to order??

I would get the jeans based on your hip size, plus go up one size...so, get a 4, since they always end up shrinking. The problem you have is with a waist of 29, your hips should be a bit bigger...such as 39.

In your case, they are smaller. Unless you are buying a high waisted pair of jeans, don't worry too much about your waist, go by your hip size for the most accurate measurement.

We have similar sizes, but my hips are 38. Try Zafu.com , they recommended Riders (a brand I would have never tried) relaxed fit size 6 and they fit well.

Good luck.

If you look at the sizes being medium and extra small, I would go with small. Size charts are always off, so they are hard to read. I would go to the store, and try jeans on, and see what size you are.

you need to order the size that fits your largest measurement unfortunately. If you byy the size 0-2 for your hips, they will never fit your waist.

You will probably have to have them tailored or altered? i have the same problem. Though i find that if I look for clothing that is labeled as curvy or contoured, I find that they fit me better.

I would probably go for somewhere in between, so try a size 4-6.
