Have you ever wondered what happen to all the nuclear weapons after the Soviet Union was divided? If you notice most of the iraqis are carrying AK-47s. And alot of the equipment that the enemy uses is Russian made. The rockets fired at Israel last summer where Russian made. So my assumtion is; they could very well have some of the Nuclear weapons that the soviets once had!

Well I wish we could all live happy ever after and do away with nukes entirely. But it doesn't work that way! The US must keep its nukes! I mean the last thing we need is to be hit with a nuclear weapon and have no means of hitting back! Its very logical to keep nukes away from countries like Iran! I'm not a bit fooled by the lame speech given at columbia university! This nation wants to wipe Israel off the map. And us if they could do it!

that has always been what the CIA and NSC and Pentagon has worried about for a long time. The US has talked to the (former) Soviets to address the issue. Some say the US has offered to buy some of their warheads. But in the end, the Russians also realized it would be bad for them if terrorists decided to use nuclear weapons against them also. So they have their own safeguards in place. But with conventional weapons, it's business as usual.

As for Iraqi's having AK47. They are the world's most distributed Assault weapon. The Soviets built them by the MILLIONS and sold them cheap to whoever would buy them. That's not that big of a deal.

Nuclear weapons are a big deal. There hasn't been a very good accounting of ex-soviet weapons. It's actually very scary.

No nuclear bombs will ever fall into the hands of terrorists. Any nation that has them will maintain strict control over them to prevent them from being used in their country or to be used and blamed on them.

Noone needs to lose a single wink of sleep over "suitcase nukes". It's a complete waste of time to worry about them.

If they really had usable nukes then they already used them long ago. It's a fake threat like WMD.

Who says they are in the wrong hands?

If we are entitled to own nuclear weapons, who is to say that another nation cannot?

That is hypocrisy.

Russia has already confirmed that several of their suitcase nukes are missing and unaccounted for.

And no, I don't watch 24.
