Help a co-worker.

If a student, share your textbook or give up your lunch for the day.

Acknowledge your teacher and ask her how her day has been going.

I prefer to send cards with actual handwritten letters and recent family pics. I have a mail out going out within the next 3 days. I send them to friends and family that lives out of town. Everybody talks about it so, I know they like receiving the updates. I also do a family newsletter periodically throughout the year to update them on what's new in our lives. The same day thing is to make time to take either my mom or husband to lunch, sometimes we all do lunch together. Its a nice break for them, and for me a good excuse to get me and my one year old out of the house.

I like to surprise my boyfriend and friends with cards.. I hide them in their stuff or their car, then they find it on their own. Just like a thinking about you card. How about leaving someone a flower with a note that says just because then sign your name. If you know someones favorite drink like tea or coffee next time you see them have one for them. Compliment someone on their hair or outfit, or just tell them they look great everyone loves to hear that.
Have a great rest of the day.

Buy them a drink or a meal (i.e. if you are in a restaurant and see an older person alone, when you pay for your own meal, secretly pay for theirs as well)

Help someone carry something/hold the door/etc

Give out free hugs

Give them a word of encouragement

Bake someone a cake or cookies

Say something positive! Like: "This is going to be a great day!" Then try to make sure it is, with the right attitude towards all tasks (or obsticles) that come your way.

How about giving someone less fortunate then you something anonymously. That way you will be giving them a smile and they won't even know who the kind person was.
