4:11 is pretty low for an auto trans, fuel consumption's a biach. You're probably winding right through the power band.
What is the rear tire diameter?
The OEM gear was probably a 3:08.3:23 or 3:50.
3:73 is good with wide,oversized 14's or 15's
3:50 is good highway with 14" tires
How is the car set up? Big block small block, cam, headers,
What carburetor? How about a crate 383CID SB w/port inj?
Bunches of torque and HP and works great in the heavy chassis.
What's the question?

depending o your engine, im going to asumme this is a 350 engine also.
if your running a big block perhaps you should change your trans to a turbo 400 or a 4 speed m-22.
with the 4.11 gears you will prolly have a beast on the 1/4 mile, but the car will not top out all that high, and will rev really high when you going about 100.

That sounds awesome. You should definitely include a question. PS with 4.11 gears and a th350, that car will only do about 45-50 MPH on the highway depending on tire height. You should goto a 3.73 or 3.55 so you can at least cruise. Unless you are racing it, and even then depending on ho much power you have, it me be over geared

on account which you purchased it at the cheap then perchance you prefer to proceed to exist a finances. first factor is first decide for how you prefer to apply the vehicle (around city vs street, highway vs strip vs mixed highway/strip). decide for on a finances, be sensible on what you're able to do. in case you start up going hardcore overall performance then you definately will could exchange greater issues on the vehicle to maintain issues working surprising. while you're passing some money, then a seven-hundred-750cfm (vacuum secondary) 4bbl carb and a Edelbrock Performer manifold. Tubular finished length headers and twin exhaust. Set your timing your self - there could be loose hp and gas mileage there. I dont think of you prefer the Performer RPM manifold until you're doing greater mods and are changing pistons. those issues will upload ~70hp i could think of. With greater money, rebuild the motor and upload reliable intense compression pistons, port the heads, upload greater intake and exhaust valves. in case you prefer to bypass hardcore, a reliable curler cam and lifters, curler rockers. If it is an entire 'at the cheap' operation: a exceedingly low priced advance is twin exhaust. track you carb and timing after its put in. Borrow a timing gentle and set your timing besides as you may nicely be leaving power on the table already. ok&N airfilter is often good. the subsequent step is a toss up between the intake/carb and finding into the kit ratios. changing the gears on what you have now could make a nighttime and day distinction. understand that in case you place a huge cam in it then you definately will prefer a stall converter interior the transmission and drivability variations particularly. i could think of that tranny is excellent with as much as 450hp or greater.
