I have heard that there are 1000 megabytes in a gigabyte (or 1024 depending) my computer says that i have 2046 MB of RAM. Is that the same as 2Gigabytes of RAM then?

a Gigabyte is 1024 Megabytes most manufacturers round it to 1000 because it is easier to multiply
you have 2 Gig of ram (2048 Mg) the missing 2mg is probably a shared video card and systems usage.

yes and sometimes even if it doesn't report exactly rounded, like 2048, it is still 2000.
when u say 1000, it is not exactly 1000, it is 1024. Start from 2 power 2, 2 power 4, etc.. u will reach there ultimately..soon.

Yes that is correct,there are 1000 megabytes in a gigabyte,and there are also 1000 gigabytes in a terabyte or TB.

There are 1024MB in a GB, that is the exact and appropriate number, 1000 is a rought estimation that is used frequently, but it not accurate. 2GB would be 2048MB, so yes you have 2GB. The missing 2MB can probably be accounted for by measurement errors within the OS, but you have 2GB.

Yes. You have 2GB of ram. That is a decent amount of ram. I am running my system on 2GB of ram and I have not had any problems playing games like Oblivion and F.E.A.R. I also do a lot of video and audio rendering and havent had any problems with that either.

En un gigabyte hay 1000 (mil) magabytes.
Un gigabyte = 1000,000,000 de bytes.
un megabyte = 1,000,000 de bytes
1000,000,000/1,000,000 = 1000
Los bytes se calculan en potencias de 2 y (10^2 = 1,024) bytes.
Siempre encontraras valores, en productos de bytes como potencias de 2.
128, 256, 512, 1,024, 2,048 etc. etc. Asi que un gigabyte = a ; 1,000+24
