I just had the same problem you are having. This month was a very strange month for me and lots of strange things happened that I never felt before. Such as the brown discharge, the cramping, the overabundance of clear discharge. I also had a bit of pink twice when I wiped. I took 3 tests, all negative, but my period isnt due until next week. I am 99.999999999% positive its not an STD unless it took years to show up. Infact that thought didnt even cross my mind.
I just thought perhaps it was me ovulating. It lasted a few days so I'm really not sure. It could be something more serious than that, but I hope for both our sakes, if its not a baby then its just ovulation, nothing more serious.
I'm going to keep an eye on this question and see if anyone else has had the problem and figured out what it was.

From http://www.pamf.org/teen/health/femalehealth/discharge.html
"Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test."

It could be a vaginal infection of some sort, which you would need to go to a doctor to get antibiotics for. Is there any pain when you urinate, or burning or itching down there?

Okay, I'm not being ugly, but those are common signs of chlamydia or gohnoriea (i forgot how to spell it). Go to the dr. if it's not either, they will know.
