I'm pregnant and if we have a girl what name would go good with temperance.
I had the joy of naming our first daughter Evelyn Kenzie
And my husband likes the name temperance (which is alright cause I want another older name since Evelyn is a old fashion name, but what would go with it for a middle name.

haha evelyn kenize the second. I like the name too, its hard to wrap my head around a different name as well.
but my husband gets what my husband wants this time.
Keep in mind our last name is McBain.
Just cant think of a middle name, and with all fairness to the child if she has a middle name then she can at least choose which one she wants to use.

judysweet.....whatever....uh I'm not joking and I don't think you comment has merrit, its not the worst name in the world, its a old fashion name.....the names you listed are used....ALOT, you'd hate the name we have picked if its a boy then....Quartus Marick, then our child doesn't have be the same as all the other john smiths, or judy smiths out there.

Temperance is a very sweet name. I like it. What nick name will you give her? Consider that some people might call her Temper. Also, it is awfully long for a little kid.

Since you gave your first daughter a rare but modern middle name, I think that you should give her a modern middle name too. Temperance, though, is so rare that I think a more common middle name would be good.

Temperance Olivia
Temperance Grace
Temperance Sophia
Temperance Lauren
Temperance Ava
Temperance Ella
Temperance Rachel
Temperance Rose
Temperance Savannah
Temperance Stephanie
Temperance Caroline
Temperance Vanessa
Temperance Veronica
Temperance Jade
Temperance Claire

Good luck finding the perfect name... perhaps your hubby would consider:
Patience
Georgia
Eva
Cecily
Charlotte
Charity
Clara
Cora
Daisy
Lila
Lucy
Madeleine
Rose
Estella
Constance
Iris
Prudence
Pearl
Silver
Sienna
I think that all of these are similar to Temperance, but would fit better with Evelyn.
Temperance

I immediately thought that it was a mouthful, and a bit harsh sounding. I think of Ronnie Reagan at a temperance hall. What about: Prudence Regina Clemency Rae Frances Meghan Anica Reine Clarice Rachael Constance Ruth Nancy Teagan

Evelyn is popular from the 1800's and Temperance is out of the 1600's.

She will definitely go by a nickname and you don't want that after going to all the trouble of naming her Temperance, do you?

What about Angelica instead? It's from the same time period as Evelyn and sounds nice with the other.

Keep it simple. I think that name is just too much. It's a mouthful to say. I would choose a name to to go with your irish last name. There are so many great names. I understand yu don't want your kids to be another "Joe" but to give them an odd name is unfair. Also, try to keep the names gender specific.Gender neutral names are a pain in the butt for the kid and you will always have to identify your kids by sex. How about these names Brady Alexander McBain and Chloe Elizabeth McBain? Good luck.

Temperance is a great name ("Tempe" for short!)...
good middle names, I think, would be:
Hannah
Rose
Ruby or Pearl
Katherine
Anne
(have you thought of using your maiden name, or the maiden name of your mom, mom-in-law, grandmother. etc?...I'm southern it is a tradition to do that...) I love old fashioned names myself, and really love the idea of keeping a family name alive in a middle name....
Just a thought....
Congrats on Evelyn's new sister!

That is such an ugly name.

Her friends might call her Temper or Temp for short, all are ugly nicknames and why would she want to be called all those? Besides, temperance sounds like she has a temper problem. I would def. recommend you using a different name...

that;s cute. i love unique names. and agreed, i hate names like john and maryanne if you know what i mean. But i've never heard temperance before. in camp, i met this girl named tamerisk and it sorta reminds me of that. But i like temperance. it's great because you can come up with so many nicknames for it. And don't worry about her getting teased. These people don't get what their talking about. Kids aren't that cruel. My name is Kirby and I've never been teased for it in my life. Plus, if she does get teased, it shows her who she shouldn't hang out with and who is actually her friend. As for a middle name, it's a little tricky.
grace
may
lorraine
talula
elaine
elle
jane
quinn
walker
carol
serena
marie

it's hard so i don't know if this helped. hope it did : )
