Everything I've read says he was trying to get them to take some action and they were saying they couldn't because she "didn't fit the criteria." Do you have a link to the specific story that says he waited 4 days???

He didn't wait that long. There's a second story of him telling about all the red tape he had to go through just to have the cops look for his wife.
He started with his local cops, and where she worked was out of their jurisdiction. It took him 4 days to convince the cops in that jurisdiction to even accept the missing persons report. Then they treated him like he did it for the next 4 days.

I saw her husband on TV today talking about this. Her husband didn't wait four days, the police waited four days before they would take it seriously. As a matter of fact, the police were so unconcerned, that they were in the process of giving the husband a lie detector test, since the police were too lazy to go look for her. They figured they'd just pin it on the husband. Her husband was extremely frustrated that the police would not help him on day one. He tried explaining to them that she wouldn't just disappear like that, but they wouldn't listen. They're police. Of course they're uncaring.

Just asked this question myself so I'll cancel mine. Your answers addressed my question. The family should have a good law suit againt someone for this having to go through all that red tape. Those 4 days could make the difference in whether she lives or dies or loses her leg.

Hope she is ok. The red tape is stupid. People know the ones they love and that stupid period of time that they make you wait to report a missing person is just dumb. Alot can happen in 24 hours.
