Try live mouse traps instead of killing them.
Take an old vase and put peanutbutter in the bottom
construct a ramp out of a ruler or paper towel roll up to it, attaching firmly
The mice will fall in and can't climb back out
Let them go in the woods
STICKY TRAPS are no good becuase they can rip the mouses skin off
Snap traps can kill them, or can just catch parts of the mouse, and NOT kill it right away, leaving it to suffer

Here's a little trick. On the shaft that holds the trap open you see a curved out part that fits in the slot on the trip. Tie a piece of thread to the shaft and pass it through the slot then set the trap and hold the thread while setting it down. After it's on the floor just release the thread it won't get in the way of the trap working and keeps it from snapping your finger.

Put the trap on a flat surface and set it. Then pick it up by the sides under the wire that catches the mice. Gently set it in place. This way, even if it goes off, your fingers are under, and at the other end of the trap mechanism.

ewww. do you really want to clean up a snapped mouse! gross. Sticky traps - oh my gosh, even worse. that is aweful!
I have used in the past, the poison that they eat. It seems like they eat it and go away. I have never seen a dead mouse in my house, but I know they ate it. and they are not back!! Good luck, I know it's gross any which way, but at least I don't have to clean up blood and guts from the inside of my cabinet!

once you set the trap, you want to hold the side AWAY from where it's going to shut.....and then carefully set it down.
but if it does go off, your fingers are on the other side...
almost learned the hard way with a rat trap....and those things are VICIOUS!!!

Buy sticky traps that you lay out and the mouse gets stuck to. That way no one gets hurt. When you trap the mouse you just take it into a nearby field and drop it off. Everyone wins! (or you could get a cat...)
