I agree with dad, it's a nice name, but it does sound feminine.

Maslin is cute but it sounds a little bit girlie. I think it is a wonderful idea tho if the dads name is Thomas. I very close friend of mine had a name running through the family that was Thomas but they did this.. Thomas Max then called him max. you could try that with a name you love. or even better Maslin Thomas.. hehe that's cute :)
Hope i helped =)

Honestly? My first thought was of kleenex. I pictured an ugly kid with a runny nose.
I'm sorry, but that was what I first pictured. Some names give us a strong image in our minds. When I think "Bertha" I think of a big fat girl. When I think Horace, I think of a boy with very large glasses backed in a corner as other boys steal his lunch money. When I thought of Maslin, I thought of a skinny boy with serious hygiene issues who gets picked on a lot....
If you want to name your boy after his dad, why not just call him Thomas? Or give him his father's middle name?

If I saw the name Maslin written on a piece of paper, i would automatically think it was a girl. I would imagine a lot of teasing coming to a boy with this name, unless, of course, you move to France or French-Canada.

It is too feminine. What's with all these boys' names ending in Lin these days? It sounds like a girl's name (like Madeline, almost) and if you want to name him Thomas, just name him Thomas. Or T.J. for Thomas Junior.

I have never heard of Maslin, but Thomas i have heard of. My middle name is Thomas. I wouldn`t name him that. Listen to your husband.

Sorry but don't like it at all.
Why not just use the name Thomas. If you don't want it as a first name then maybe a a middle name.

Hey. If it's pronounced Mason then it's okay but I still would like Thomas or Mason better. I say, don't take what you read here to heart.. if you love a name you should be able to go for it and don't worry about what the yahoo answerers think.
