Government-based reforms, or market-based reforms?

Why?

Thanks.

Market based. The free market has always been superior to government bureaucracy.

I would prefer to go back to the old days when we paid for our own health care as we went and had hospitalization insurance if anything really major happened.

(Sigh!) Doctors even made house calls back then!

market-based only. I think once the government gets involved quality will go down and its not "free" its going to come out of our tax dollars. Also if the government stops meddling in the market and we repeal the ERISA law we can start negotiating our prices with doctors ourselves. Too many parties involved and the government is in bed with Insurance companies and pharmacuetical companies, and they are all scewing us over! If we were to allow the government to take over healthcare than quality goes down and innovative technology suffers because the market is no longer free.

A combination of both. Businesses do need to buy in order to defray costs from the gov't. However, for profit care should not mean life should be lost in order to receive profit gain nor service reduced (I attached an interesting article about for profit nursing homes). So market based is what we have currently and it obviously isn't working for us.

Also, we need to reexamine how we look at paying for 'experimental procedures'.

Protect doctors from lawsuits (prices go down, sometimes doctors make mistakes)

Stop using the FDA to limit foreign competition in medicine (prices go down, quality & choice goes up)

I favor people manning up and providing for their own families.

Cheers!
