Steel is a very tough material indeed! It's only drawback is it's prone to rust! So it has to be painted frequently with a rust retardant paint. There are grades of stainless steel, but they are quite expensive compared to normal steel, and a lot harder to work with because it's a much harder metal. Have a good day.

Steel is very tough. There are degrees of elasticity and of brittleness depending on how much carbon is in the particular steel.

Depends on the type and the application it is used for. Steel wool is tough on pots and pans. Steel beams can carry heavy loads.

mild steel, the most common type, has a tensile stregth of around 48,000 psi, 4130 steel and other high carbon alloys are quite a bit stronger
