It's plain as day the man is a dictator. He has shut down private newspapers, private news stations, and deports any foreigner who questions his authoritarianism. I thought the left loved free speech?? Now he's meeting with Ahmadi'Nejad (who excutes homosexuals and has women prostitutes stoned to death)?? What is the mentality behind the left? Are they blind or do they just see what they want to see?

because hollywood has an ego and only looks at the surface value of anything. they think being outside of the norm or being ahead of the curve is avant garde or just plain cool. I worked in the biz for years and could never understand talent. idiots.

They are "acting" and they are doing it on purpose, they don't care about Chavez, they are using the freak for publicity. What else can be expected from people that earn a living "faking life", especially when most of them don't even have a real education????
If Hollywood twits really care about anything, the least thing they should be doing is supporting any Latin American government when all those governments turn a blind eye to the forgery of movies and Cd's. Those forged movies and Cd's are sold publicly in the streets in Latin America, my husband does frequent business travels and sees those forgeries everywhere....

Hollywood for years has been too expensive to film in and locations such as this are a big draw. Besides like his mentor Fidel Castro , Hugo loves a good photo op. Then u have the President of Iran in there. Wonder if he will get into that ring too? You never know.

Anyway, as far as the actors go, many of them, especially the followers of Hugo Chavez, are clueless.I cannot for the life of me imagine what they see in this guy or Saddam Hussein or any other dictator.
My quesion is, if they like Venezuela and Chavez so much, why don't they just move there?

Because they're anti- american and they because they're rich they think they have the power to change our minds.What they don't realize is tht they're just actors and nothing more.As far as i'm concerned,they can all get on a plane,leave and never come back. Treason comes in all colors, shapes, and sizes.Maybe if they found out what it was like not to have freedom they would appreciate the country that gave them so much.As the saying goes,you don't know what you've got until its gone!!!!

Very simple answer: they hate Bush. Bush-hating leftists will sympathize with anyone who bashes Bush as much as they do. Look at how the Columbia students applauded for the terrorist, Ahmadinejad on Monday! They criticized the president of Columbia, Bollinger, that he was too harsh and disrespectful to the terrorist. The liberal students and Ahmadinejad have only one thing in common....and that is hating Bush. I guess that's all the qualification one needs to get sympathy from the left.
