I have just bought a book called, ' Mum, can you lend me twenty quid', it was written by Elizabeth Burton-Phillips. (14.99) It is about a mother who's two sons turned into heroin addicts. It is a true story. What a good but very sad read. I work in Substance misuse & it gives a different outlook reading about the other side of the coin..Well recommended ...

Thanks for the suggestion, thing I'll give that one a try!
I've just finished reading Kaitlyn for about the tenth time and that's also about drug abuse and trade, it's a very powerful read! Have you read it? If not, I seriously recommend it!

Both are fiction, but have excellent messages and deal with substance abuse.

I loved the book Tuesdays with Morrie about a teacher and his student the teacher had ALS very sad story also true. I was touched by it.

i recommend dead at sunset by ann rule, its a true story which reads as unbelievable, its totally captivating.
