I assumed, and if you will, took for granted, that when I married and had children that I would be the homemaker, take care of the house, the children, the yard, the errands, iron, wash windows all that I thought was required in my role as a wife and mother. Sadly, it was not. I came from a generation that the role of a wife/mother was to stay home with the children. Very few women had duel rolls. I admire the women of today being independent in their thinking and educated to achieve a career and/or be a mother as well. Their partners help in a partnership roll, and I say, great! It was never done in my day. It is a rude awakening when you find later on in life you raised your children, married a professional, yet have little to show for it because you chose the direction you thought was correct. Today I am independent, educated and thankful I did this in between raising children. A woman should never take for granted a man will be her life long soul mate and make sure she is able to stand on her own two feet. Thank goodness the last chapter of this book ended well!

i take for granted the people who surround me such as close friends,bf and family because since they are so much part of my life inmy mind there is the idea that they always be here for me. the truth is that these people that i have mentioned are the ones who keep me sane and my bf deserves kudos for putting up with me and the calamity that i also brought at times. for some reason i am used to seeing and being with these people that when a friend leaves or moves reality sinks in and i have to realize to cherish what i have. my bf and i might not be together in 2 years yet i should make the most of it. in the future i will be a wiser and better person and take things for their full value and to appreciate all the things in my life: from a sunset to friends and family.

Hi Rena, I think i take love for granted some times.I expect things to stay good all the time. But life can be very rocky on this path.I must learn from this mistake.I some times paint a picture to how i think it should be like.I know this can be wrong.I must except that things are out of my control.Humans cannot predict the future. We have to live the life first. To truly understand the gift of life.

there are a lot of things we take for granted, the fact that we live in a nation, that we, as Americans, take for granted. we, have a right to voice our opinions for 1, and I can go on, and on, but I am sure you get my meaning. I appreciate the Life God has given me, and I do not take anything for granted, I thank God everyday for waking up to another day, and hoping that tomorrow will be another day to marvel the simple things in Life.

Apart from the likelihood of the sun rising in the morning and setting in the evening, I don't think I take anything for granted - not even my own continuity while I live. The mind can die while the body lives, and everything is susceptible to change which is inevitable in all things. So I enjoy what I can while I can.

At present, I'm taking for granted MY DIVORCE.
Why? I take it easy and I have had to do this (my divorce) in order not to waste my life time anymore. I learn right now to life with this (my step) and I will not make the same mistake (to be married again) in the future. Despite I'm not young (I'm 47 years old); I want to make my life free of torments.

The only thing that I take for granted is that everything has to end one day.
I cherish the time I spend with my Family, but also realise that everything has an ending.
I hope and believe, that I don't take these good times for granted and today I just enjoy.

I take for granted all that there is out there that I could be doing and enjoying, instead of working the same job day in and day out, eating up all my weekday hours and daylight! I do it for financial stability and to provide for my kids. I will be sure to continue to seek that which is more fulfilling than this....

I'm taking granted of my being singleness and being carefree, sometimes I am just being careless of decisions but I have learned to be more responsible of my actions.
