It totally depends on the duration of the relationship. The first stage is non-stop, enjoy this while it lasts, things will never be the same again! As time goes by the frequency will naturally decline, I don't know why. What changes? Life becomes routine, work exhausts us, children pump our energy, so it becomes a weekend thing. But on the other hand it is the quality not the quantity that is important, is is sensual, romantic, special each time. Even after years of being with someone, you can still spice things up, discover a new position or touch, and wow that feels great. I suppose there is more to life than sex, the relationship evolves, and the most important thing becomes snuggling up hand in hand in front of the telly after a horrible stressful day, in the knowledge that this person next to you, loves you for you. And just because you are in a relationship doesn't mean that you can not induilge in self-pleasure, ok it definately not the same as when touched by a partner, but you have the right to experiment with your body too. So, many answers here seem big headed, super action men and perhaps proud women stating that their love life is more active than in reality. But everyone knows the facts that things do slow down in a relationship, that sex is not the measurement of genuine love, it is a demonstration and a beautiful sharing between two people, but there is a lot more to a relationship. There is no magic formula to how many times?

Elm24, varies with both couples and length of relationship. Usually when couples first start to indulge in this exercise it is very often and may be several times a day. After the honeymoon stage has ended however the frequency usually declines also. For a average couple I would suggest approximately 3 or 4 times weekly would be the norm. But there are times when even after many years of being together that it might occur 3 or 4 times daily then not again for a couple of months afterwards. A lot depends on how each person is feeling and how happy they are in their lives at the present also.

It does depend. I only see my bf on weekends cause we live in different cities, but we average, 4-5 times. On the other hand, sex isn't a necessity, if it's a genuine relationship - it's added benefits. Anyway have fun.

In a proper loving relationship the sex on demand all day and every day moves on. It becomes a less regular happening but can happen a number of times in a short period and then nothing for perhaps days. No such thing as average in this context.

every couple have different sex patterns. for example, me and my boyfriend have sex probably every three days seeing as we don't live together and have a lot of work as well, but my best friend goes without sex for at least two months with her boyfriend even though they see each other like every day.
that question is like asking how long a piece of string is, there's no exact answer.

If they are an average couple then the bonk an average number of times per day/week/month. Personally we bonk at least once every day.
When I was younger and with a very sexy girlfriend my record was set at 12x in one day.
