Way to mislead folks. Media Matters took that quote out of context and only used 30 seconds or so of the entire conversation. If you're going to criticize, at least use an entire quote instead of "cherry picking" what you want.
It is amazing that people who have never listened to the program are now experts on it. Go to Limbaugh's website and read the transcript for yourself.
Where was your outrage when Sen. Kerry insulted the soldiers intelligence, and claimed that they were "terrorizing Iraqi women and children" during the night? Where was your outrage at Rep Murtha when the soldiers involved in the Haditha incident were exonerated? Murtha accused them of murder and has given no apology.
You are not a total left wing wacko, so do some thinking on your own. What happens when Media Matters succeeds in getting right wing talkers off the air? Do you think they will stop there? Media Matters will come after ANYONE that doesn't agree with them.

Couple of funny things about this one Chi Guy. Your source is a Fox News article. It can't possibly be accurate right? According to the lefties anyhow. And your spin is dizzying again. IF you actually read the whole article and apply common sense, you know that there are callers to these shows all the time that pretend to be something they are not just to make their political point. He even makes this point with this caller. He then goes on to explain that no one currently joins the military and does not expect to serve in Iraq or Afgahnistan. This is not a surprise. So those that do join up are there becasue they believe in fighting for this country. We have been at war for a little over 6 years now. Anyone who didn't want to do their duty or fight for this country or didn't believe in the reasons could be out of the military by now. If I'm not mistaken you sign up for four year terms of duty. So to get these fruads that come out and do what Kerry tried to do and demean our troops and call them murderers or pronounce that we can't win... are either phoney or they never believed in our military in the first place... again, making them phoney troops. Ask anyone who has served proudly or who is currently serving proudly if they believe in our military and our capabilities or if they think we can't win? It has nothing to do with their beliefs if we should be in the war or not, but they know how to do their jobs and they believe they can succeed.

This is a phony characterization of what Rush Limbaugh said. He was taking to task the phony people who call up talk shows claiming to be soldiers, fire fighters, police, border agents, scientists, you name it and then take a completely counter intuitive position that is right out of the George Soros play book.
Such phonies deserve to be taken to task. You need only to go to Rush's own website and hear the entire exchange for yourself. He posts the entire show on the web every day. No need for anyone to take his words out of context.

Rush's comment was about:
Jesse Adam Macbeth (b. Jesse Adam Al-Zaid,[1] in 1984) falsely claimed to be an Army Ranger and veteran of the Iraq War. He lied in alternative media interviews that he and his unit routinely committed war crimes in Iraq.[2][3] Transcripts of the video were made in English and Arabic.[4] According to the U.S. Army, there is no record of Macbeth being a Ranger,[5][6] or serving in a combat unit: he was discharged from the service after having been declared unfit or unsuitable for the Army, or both,[7] before he could complete basic training.[8]
After his release from the Army in 2004, Macbeth purported himself to be a veteran, telling war stories and garnering attention from mainstream,[9] alternative[10] and student media outlets. He joined Iraq Veterans Against the War in January of 2006,[11] and represented, or was scheduled to represent them publicly at various events throughout the country;[12][13][14] the organization has since said it does not endorse Macbeth or his accounts of military service.[11] Accounts in Macbeth's name appear on Military.com and Myspace.com, and both were used to post claims about military service in Iraq.[15] On September 21, 2007 Macbeth admitted in federal court that he had faked his war record. U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Sullivan declared that Macbeth had been in the Army for just 40 days and had been kicked out as unfit.[16]
Does this sound like a phony soldier to you? You guys are really reaching in your "gotcha" games.
P.S. Gore lost. Get over it.

Rush Limbaugh has been playing a dangerous game with his support of the War; trying to condemn those who don't support it, and idolize those who are in it. And of course, when those two groups intersect, he dances out of trouble (usually.)
You might remember when Rush spent a portion of his show telling voters in the second congressional district in Ohio that they should vote for Jean Schmidt instead of Paul Hackett, who was a veteran of the Iraq War. I remember him referring to Hackett as merely "an Office Puke."
Limbaugh's time in the public spotlight is just about up. He is insignificant.

Rush was talking about one antiwar soldier, who was in bootcamp for 44 days, was kicked out of the military. Then went around with antiwar protestors, saying he was an army ranger, received a purple heart, and said he was a party to killing/maiming/torturing innocent civilians. The guy was a complete fraud. Rush said the guy was a phony. Amazing, the party who openly and often says our troops torture innocent civilians, would be outraged. If Rush were a Dem, he would be appaulded. You don't have to agree with him about the war, argue about that. Don't make up fake controversies.

I wouldn't be surprised that some cons would take this and run with it because "Rush said so".
Who said just because your fighting in the war means you totally agree with everything that is going on ? I have a friend fighting now that doesn't agree 100% with the war but he's doing his job like most people would do at their job. But it's goes deeper then that. Limbaugh isn't called a fat wind bag for nothing. He should know soilders aren't just fighting for the idea but also for their follow soilder, their family away from family.

Easy for him to say being far away from the danger in Iraq. Any talkshow host no matter what political ideology they lean themself upon they dont say things out of a honest belif. They say it to get attention and make peolpe react negative or positive to what they say.
And if I click that link for instance I contribute to feed that troll since the datatraffic show how many that actually seen what Rush have said and fox can go to the hand that feed them the companys and show that Rush have good listener or visitor rates at his homepage and he can figure out what to say next for peolpe to react on.
Rush is just one of many political fishermans that throw out bate in the big pond and we all can get hooked on the bate since we are all the fishes he want to catch.
We dont have to like the bate but we may just be hungry.
I saw that he was mocking Michael J Fox last election for his ad. That was enough not to ever feed that troll again.

For someone who hasn't been in the military to say something like that, is Un-American. Limbaugh is an egotistical maniac with half a brain. I don't agree with the ad that moveon.org put out about Petraeus & when the Republicans & conservatives complained about it, which I understand, but will those same people ay the same about Limbaugh, I doubt it. Ad was wrong, but Petraues should have been able to answer question if America was safe & shouldn't have replied that he didn't know. If Limbaugh is so much for this war, let him enlist & do his duty
