I recently bought an air compressor to airate my sprinkler system. I have 1 acre of land. Do I use an air fitting with an 1/4 or 1/2 inlet. Also what size air line do I use.
I might use it for my air impact tools. I was told not to use 1/2 inlet with my impact guns.

Most air tools have a 1/4" inlet. This, along with 3/8" hose is sufficient for most applications including blowing out waterlines. Size of the tank will decide how much air you can put out over a certain period of time.

Good answer from Alfred. I just wanted to add that since you'll be using it for sandblasting, you should absolutely stay away from the oil-less compressors. They use a teflon sleeve, and particulate from sandblasting and painting will destroy the sleeve fairly quickly. Whatever you end up with, make sure its an oil sump compressor. Preferably a 2 stage. Oil sump compressors usually will give you better CFM's anyway.

depends on the CFM [cubic feet per minute, ] of your air comp, and amount of pressure you have set on compressor, 1/4 will work in most all cases, even blowing out water lines,
