Catered means more drinking time which is needed to get rid of the taste of the food LOL Self catered means that you can eat what you want, when you want (before and / or after drinking).
On campus means rules such as curfews and no visitors whereas off campus means come and go when you want and with whoever you want.

If you're considering catered accommodation go along and take a look at what you will be eating. The food is pretty disgusting. Cooking needn't take long, especially if you share with other students.
Catered meals were pizzas, chips, curly chips, more chips, baked potatoes or spicy foods. They did have a reasonable salad bar but that gets boring twice a day every day. I was impressed at how poor and unhealthy the selection was but unis can be different to each other so check it out and ask other students who have experience where you are.
I know a lot of students who had catered accommodation and had a lot of credit left on their food cards at the end of the year and no refund is possible.
On or off campus your choice. On campus usually very handy for uni and classes, no extra bills, easy to meet people. Off campus, pay bills, not so easy to meet new people but more 'independant' living.

Self catering students can live off pizza, chips, burgers and dodgy pies, washed down with cola or some other fizzy drink.
In catered accommodation you will probably get a more balanced and healthier diet. The upshot will be that in the latter case you will be better able to cope with your studies and be more alert. If you follow the former route, well just look around you , many of them can barely walk upright. A six foot two student rarely lifts himself above five feet ten.

Catered is where the school robs you blind for unhealthful food. Off-campus is better because you will be away, for at least a while, from the left-wing brainwashing techniques of the faculty, who are mostly burned out druggies from the 1960's radical movement.

I hated living in catered halls simply because i was bound to a certain time for getting back and having dinner or up for breakfast lol.
At my uni dinner was always around 6.30pm but i often wanted to stay studying later than that or chat with friends.
