Geeze, what a crap argument: It's not as bad here as it is in some 3rd world country, so stop whining. Did I get that right? Who is to say it can't be "good" all over? That is the point.

Just because the US isn't the worst on some of the topical issues, doesn't mean its good at all.

So you're saying that because things here aren't as bad as in Myanmar (it's not called Burma anymore) that we shouldn't bother addressing this countries problems? It's not patriotic to pretend like everything here is perfect. It's just lazy.

I hate Bush administration and I love the people, but I sure wished that the media was not dominated by the special interest groups. The people of USA are constantly brainwashed by the media which is backed by the very strong Israel lobby. Rather than set Israel right they indulge this country like a spoiled child.

I have not said the US is a bad place, I like it here. I do not like what the administration does or not to some of the time ( right now most of the time ). I guess that is why I like it here, i can speak my mind and hopefully a ppolitician may listen, stranger things have happened.

I have yet to hear any liberal claim the US as a country is bad. Do we have bad leadership in the current White House? Absolutely, and it needs to change.

Trust me. Liberal Americans are here because there's hope to fix America. We're not planning to move to any 3rd world countries were Conservatism has taken over, like Burma. If we move, it will be for a more liberal nation. (Look at a list of 1st world countries to see which these are)

Good point. Let's not worry about this country until it's a festering dictatorship craphole. Or, we can undo everything Bush has done and make this country great and respected again.

Have you seen the:
- Trade deficit
- Budget deficit
- Value of the dollar

yes- just because other places are worse doesn't mean our issues don't exist.
I'm sorry for those of you whom feel that not being the worst makes you and what you have good

Well...we're still having to fight for fair elections and media that is free of government influence too....so you see the similarity in struggle ?

The only difference is that nobody has been shot over it yet.

The US is still a great country....and it will be even greater when the conservatives get taken down a notch in 08'.
