As a hard working American I had better things to do than watch any debate (dem or rep).
It's September 2007 and elections don't take place for OVER a year.
Nothing can be gained from these debates except to see who uses wigs, thongs, manicures and nylons... And they didn't debate last night.

I am a registered Democrat but don't always vote along party lines. I closely follow politics and elections. This year there are many more debates than we typically have during an election campaign. I have not watched every one of them but I have watched at least 4 Democratic debates and 2 Republican debates and we are a long way off from November 2008!
Your statement that only Democrats tax middle class Americans to pay for entitlement programs is not completely accurate. It is true that in the past the Democratic Party had the reputation for being the "tax and spend" party but the Republican Party has begun to do the same thing.
Under the Bush Administration an entitlement program was ADDED - Medicare Part D. I support a program that assists those on Medicare with their prescriptions drug expenses, However, Medicare Part D was poorly designed (resulting in it not being as useful as possible and more expensive than it needs to be) not to mention how difficult it is to understand.
While adding this very expensive entitlement program, President Bush gave a tax cut to Americans earning over $250,000. So, an entitlement plan was added and those earning $250,000 or more per year received a tax cut. I think that means that "hard working" middle class Americans are footing the bill.
In addition, under Medicare Part D, the government is prohibited from negotiating discounts with the Pharmaceutical companies - a practice routinely done by private insurance companies. Clearly Bush (and the Republicans) gave in to the lobbyist from the Pharmaceutical companies. In my opinion that is not only fiscally irresponsible but borders on defrauding Americans.
The Republicans have become a party of social conservatives but are no longer fiscally conservatives.
It would benefit us all to pay more attention to debates, understand where each candidate stands on the issues that are important to us and ultimately vote.

The debate was wednesday and seriously...who was watching the REPUBLICAN debate last night. Oh wait...most of them were cowards and didn't show up to it. Funny how you guys harp on dems for not wanting to debate on extremely biased fox news yet you can't show up for minorities who host a debate. Yet another example of the Chickenhawk....

It's because we were at work, working harder to make up for the (Con) "free trade" that has us competing with Mexican workers. We're working longer hours for less pay.
