Your cervix needs to be checked. Call your dr.

TX Mom
not an expert, but I worked at a prenatal clinic for 2 years.

Sometimes the baby will go lower than usual then return to it's comfort zone after awhile because there's more room.
When a baby drops into the birth canal, you will feel like you have to make a big bowel movement & will walk painfully.
Try changing your position so that the baby will be uncomfortable and move his/hers.
Or go ahead & see your doctor so that you can relax.
I take it this is your first child.

Are you sure that he has or you're thinking he has? That's awfully ealry to have dropped, I did at 28 weeks with twins but that's a whole other story. If his head is engaged you would probably know..your tummy being hard doesn't mean that he has just means your tummy is starting to be stretched from the growing baby.

I carried my son low through my whole pregnancy but he never "dropped" until I was induced. It could just be he/she is lower then normal for you but if in doubt call your doctor, the can check to make sure he/she is fine.

speak to your midwife she will be able to tell if baby has dropped in to the birth canal. its unlikely that babys head will be engaged at this stage. your midwife will be able to tell where and which way round baby is lying it could be that he/she is lying across your belly thats y it feels like its dropped .

I doubt that your baby has actually dropped this early. The baby moves around alot and at times it will seem that she has, but I guarantee that she (or he) has not dropped yet.
