In an internet cafe, is it advisable to have air conditioners or eveporative coolers? Wouldn't the humidity from the cooler harm the computers? Please help.

Depends on what you are looking to do. A cooler will only drop the temperature a fraction of what an air conditioner will do. The cooler will add a slight amount of humidity into the air, where the conditioner will remove humidity.

A cooler will cost less to run than an air conditioner.

So, you must factor in whether you need to remove humidity, how much of a temperature drop you want from the ambient air, and what are you willing to pay to operate.

That said, being you are inviting the public into your establishment to spend money, I would go with the air conditioner. If the customers aren't comfortable, they won't stay or return. Figure the cost into your product sales and call it overhead.

It probably depends on the climate where you live, but I would say that the humidity from the evaporative coolers would definitely be harmful to your computers. Additionally, it might make everything with cloth a little damp or soggy, create more condensation on cool drinks (thus wet tables), and also create condensation inside your electronics. Also, if the water ever comes disconnected from your evaporative cooler, it might cause a water leak/water damage or just a big waste of money and water. I strongly suggest getting central heating/cooling.

Even without the humidity, the noise of an evaporative cooler (also called swamp cooler or air cooler) is too much. Air conditioner (split type) is better.

At first I was going to say "depends on the climate" until I saw it's involving electronics. Air conditioning by all means. Yes, the humidity will harm the electronics.
