Because they're no longer taught manners and etiquette by their parents.
I guess at 45 I'm hopelessly old-fashioned, but I was raised to automatically respect others, treat everyone with courtesy and good will, and never let my wants/desires cause another person to feel belittled or insulted or inconvenienced.
Nowadays so many people are utter egomaniacs, crashing through life like they're owed royal treatment and can do anything they like. The really laughable ones are those that get immediately hostile when they perceive someone as "dissing" them, yet they were not offering respect beforehand.

Depends on if you're talking about a 2 year old or not. People tend to be immature. Look at it like this. If you're overly happy, you tend to act a bit younger then you are, if you're sick you act like a baby and want someone to take care of you. Of course there are the people who are not so smart and want only to get their way and thats that, they are just immature and act accordingly.
