A very good point indeed. I agree that it needs to be solved. The problem that comes with such a high profile case is that all involved in the investigation feel an urgency to resolve it as the pressure from external sources must be overwhelming at times. If they are professional about it, they should ignore all the attention, but the reality is that the interest in this case must be impossible to ignore all the time. I hope that whatever resolution comes of this case, that it is a solution that involves justice, and not one which is conjured up because of the intense pressure applied by external sources. One victim in this crime as yet unsolved is enough. I hope they get the right person or people responsible for this crime.

Its probably because the McCanns made it so high profile that it hasnt been solved yet and I should imagine other cases, and I would hope to God there wouldnt be any but we all know what a terrible world this is, would have a greater chance of being solved because the police could work quietly in the background without hindrance as they should be allowed to do. Criminals already do think they will get away with whatever they do, otherwise they wouldnt do it would they.

This case could be solved immediately if the Mc|Canns came clean, told the truth, stopped all the media spin, answered the 40 questions previously unanswered, stopped diverting attention away from the case every verse end and started thinking about Maddy instead of themselves. The know more than they are letting on. Now we read that Kate is feeling ill. Why now ? Why not whilst she was in Portugal ? Oh I forgot she was busy jogging , streaking her hair, buying clothes, posing for photos, meeting the Pope ...... the list goes on. I expect we will soon be hearing that she is too ill to face further questioning too.
I agree with Jack H

no one has got away with it they just have not been caught yet
and someone must know more its just a matter of time this is not t.v were everything is solved in half an hour
huge mistakes were made in the beginning of this case and DNA samples that prove what .their are many missing children
that have not been found Maddie has highlighted this in world wide public media these child takers must be punished in a way that it will put the fear of god into the next child thief

It's quite different situation from any case you call normal, in a normal one you don't have British media/ McCanns Army/ PR and God knows who else concentrated in feel sorry for the neglecting parents than actually concentrate on the missing child.
When you have money from the start you should get private investigators to help you on the search for your daughter and not after you're nominated OFFICIAL SUSPECT everybody knows that's against the law (which makes sense) and drive everybody else in a selfish way to cover your guilt instead of looking for MADELEINE or any other child that happens...

There are other cases of missing children that lie unsolved. All criminals think they can get away with crime, that´s why they do it. Everyone is having a go at the Portugese but there are many other cases in Britain where they can´t solve cases.

In my opinion and not just this case professionals make it up as they go and unless caught red handed dont really seem to know anything unless someone "Grasses" another, untill then they are usually in the dark just like the rest of us.
But one thing for sure we live in a closed environment so the target must be local to us!... we do need a rapid response team to be deployed on this type of case one that can enter other countries and retrieve camera images and enter where they like without having to ask each individual country permissions etc. to provide such a squad will cost I imagen less than a pound per person accross the countries im sure noperson otherthan a**eholes would mind paying £1 per year towards such a squad.

I totally agree with Jack H. In my opinion, the McCanns will turn around at a later date and state that they will not get a fair trial due to the media frenzy, and if they are responsible for their daughters demise, will escape justice. The job of any defence barrister is to try and discredit the evidence, and their pr machine is always trying to put the boot into the portuguese police to, in my opinion, do just that.

The media always make it harder to solve these cases with their non-factual reporting. It is time to let the police get on with it and report what they are told from the right authorities instead of digging up little snippets from unreliable sources. Typical media these days.

I agree with you there. The sooner they find her the better and maybe after all this! They can all go back to missing children files and start their inquiries from scratch again until they find them. I know Interpol deals mostly with terrorists these days but there is no reason why they shouldn't have a child unit as well, dealing with missing children.
