I would run it and showcase three types of matches each week. I would start with a light-heavyweight come Lucha Libre Match and bring in some high flyers similar to how WCW used to (Who remembers the eight man tag matches that used to open the PPV's). The next match type would be a tag match, get some solid tag team wrestling happening again. The final match would be a one on one match with some significance either part of a feud or leading to a title match. The storylines for the final match would have three month arcs, PPV events would be first match heel cheats to win, second match is indecisive, third match is blow off.
All matches would be extreme rules, I would get rid of that term and just say there are no rules.
I'd try to get a 90 minute show so that my matches could be showcased. Interviews would be short and I ouwld bring back the old school interviews in the back with someone interviewing them, no more monologues.
I'd want to make it a faster show, more in ring action less talking. Make the storylines a bit edgier and more adult (it's on late at night for petes sake)
I don't know about bringing back the ECW originals though. While the nostalgia value is good some of those guys are past their use by date (Not all but some). The ones who aren't don't ahve a long shelf life. ECW should be used to showcase the young talent the way it is being used. It could just do with livening up.

I run it old school . I would bring back the idea of every match had weapons involved , I would defiantly let the refs fight back . I wouldn't go nuts and bring back scaffold matches , but it would defiantly would be Extreme in every manner . I wouldn't bring back the hardcore belt because it would be pointless if every match was hardcore . I would bring back some originals and mix it up with the current roster ( which is like 7 people at the moment ) I would let the women get there buts beat too . Make it a 90 minute show and have a couple of 6-7 minute fights and 1 or 2 , 20-25 minute fights . a limited amount of story lines and reserve all the talking and interviews until the end ( a post fight interview )

How would you run it?
It's going in the right direction, even though it strayed from Heyman's original shoot wrestling vision. I'd advance the Miz up the roster for one thing, and get him out of the exposee boy toy gimmick, or at least downplay it to be no more than an entrance and a few skanks at ringside. I'd vie to get more less-used workers like Gregory Helms, Bob Holly, and Kenny Dykstra. I wouldn't opt for too many new people on the roster, but there's most definitely a void in the ECW card, much like the void in a majority of the brands these days. I'd quit with the Extreme Exposee slut dancing, unless it was casual entrance adjacent cage dancing that barely goes noticed, like in early TNA. I'd stick to having one title still, maintain the ever-present rush for the title by the entire roster.
What would you do with it?
I'd just enhance what's being done with it already, maybe push people like Nunzio, if not simply fire him. I'd use Striker a lot more, and maybe push for a Balls/Daddy V feud, maybe Thorn v. Dreamer in a sequence of matches while burying Boogey Man in the undercard as a squash. The whole show would be fixated on a title chase though, because, since there's only one title, the whole roster should be focused on getting their hands on it. Punk should have a target on his back. I'd try to build up some slightly tweener rivalry between Punk and Richards where Punk finds Stevie unworthy, so Richards has to prove himself. It would end in a title match draw when Richards finally proves he's on-par with Punk. They shake hands and Richards is established. I'd sanction some extreme gimmick match at least every other PPV for feuds or title matches, but hardcore every week gets old fast, and frankly, the old ECW didn't really run like that. Sure, you had the ever-present legal kendo sticks, and cheap shot run-ins on occasion, but actual hardcore matches were a rarity.
How would you improve it?
I'd try to build up the guys currently being buried, like Steven Richards. I know he's been getting push lately, but there's always this lingering echo of "You're A Joke, Know Your Place." Tommy Dreamer seemed to come out of the blue for this new tourney, I'd like to see him built up to the Tommy Dreamer of old, because Dreamer hasn't lost a step in the ring. Little Guido should be given a chance to shine as more than just a Thorn squash. The whole roster should look credible, since it's so small. I have a stigma now, as should WWE, about wellness issues, and the problem of pulling main eventers when they violate protocall. ECW shouldn't have this problem since it's Busch League anyway.

First thing I'd do is re-hire Paul Heyman, apologize profusely for the way the WWE has pissed all over ECW, and give him complete control of the show again. Then I'd "promote" Tommy Dreamer to Heyman's Executive Assistant and apologize to HIM for what the WWE has down to ECW. I'd invite all of the original ECW guys back, especially RVD, Sabu, Francine, Balls Mahoney (not that poor schmuck using his name now), Masato Tanaka, the Dudleys, The Sandman, and New Jack. I'd hire Terry Funk as a consultant. I'd try to get the show moved to the USA channel (no offense to Sci Fi but USA has a larger audience) and try to get a two-hour time slot. Some of the new guys would be welcome to stay (Punk, Burke, Thorn) but the Boogeyman would be gone. I'd try to get all of this into place then let Heyman, Dreamer, and Funk turn ECW into ECW again.

rehire Paul Heyman as GM and also as booker for the matches. make a tag team division, bring back as many ECW people as possible. all matches are hardcore. make a TV title too. try and get Dawn Marie and Tammy Sytch back. reform the bWo with Stevie and Blue Meanie. 2 hour show with less talking more action. ALL production to be done by same standards as ECW used to be made. smaller venues in areas that had a strong ties to ECW, phila, new york, cleveland, etc. no crossover crap unless it was really needed, smackdown stay on smackdown, and raw on raw.

I would develop more of the current talent and give them more personality. I would do away with the John Morrison gimmick, it just comes across flat. From me, it gets X-Pac heat. CM Punk needs more mic time. He's over, sure, but we don't know much about him past the fact that he's straight-edge. He needs a good fued. Maybe tackling the monster Big Daddy V. BoogieMan and the worms needs to go. Give him a new gimmick because the worms are just repulsive.
I think bringing in a TV championship might be worth looking at. The Hardcore Championship just doesn't work as a real title. The 24-7 rule was funny for a little bit, but it got old.

I would fire everyone except Morrison, Punk, Thorn and Burke. Then I would go out and get some new stars to fill the roster. Including: Takeshi Morishima, Bryan Danielson and Brent Albright from Ring of Honor and bring up several wrestling from OVW and Florida. I would also get some Superstars from Raw and Smackdown that aren't being used. I would make ECW different from Raw and Smackdown by putting more infuses on wrestling and less on soap opera story lines.

For starters I would change the name. Why continue a farce when everyone knows that this is not ECW?
I'd add on to the roster as much as WWE would allow, and see if I could get at least another 30 mins of programming.
I actually like ECW, so I won't change up everything too much.
