Last year, I had no idea either so i just bought him some really expensive cologne. But what should I get him this year, i don't want to buy more cologne, thats boring!!

Don't spend a lot of money on it... its not meant to be a spending holiday, its supposed to be a holiday to tell someone you care.
Make him something. A scrapbook with photos of the 2 of you, a picture frame with a photo of the 2 of you with words around the outside that mean something to you guys, plan a day out doing things you 2 love doing together, etc.

Sweetest Day has only been in publicized since the 70's, when it was made up by the greeting card companies to fill the gap between the wedding and graduation season and the holiday season. It is not even a valid holiday. If you must do something, get the guy a card, but I sure wouldn't make a big fuss over it.
PS - Okay, I just looked it up, and it actually was founded in 1922 by a guy who wanted "to bring happiness into the lives of orphans, shut-ins and others who were forgotten." Does your boyfriend fall into one of these categories??

Cologne is a good idea for a Sweetest Day present. Guys are really hard to buy for, maybe some silk boxers or some type of love toys, lotions, creams, etc. Maybe some cigars? Sweetest Day gifts for guys is really hard!

Sweetest Day is a fabrication of the greeting card companies with the intent of filling the holiday gap in the year (July through October) to keep their profits up. In short, it's all a big SCAM. DO NOT play into it.

How about tickets to a sporting event or concert. Or you could do some research and find out if any good plays are in your area. Something nice that might require you to dress up a little. Or you could find out if there is anywhere in your area that has hot tubs with private rooms that you can rent. My boyfriend and I did that on Valentines Day last year and then changed and dressed up and went out to a nice restaurant, then went back to my place, had wine and made love by candle light. What a wonderfully romantic night it was!!!
