So BOB we can take it that in the past couple of weeks neither the McCanns nor the Prime Minister can be bothered to take this any further. I thought they actually wanted to "leave no stone unturned" ??

Guy.....all possible investigations are able to find the Mc's guilty as well as innocent. So its not that the police are falling over to help these people, they are also falling over themselves to nail them too.

Tim.... Perhaps the McCanns could ask one of their benefactors to pay, or use some of their fund money. If it means they might find out what happened to their child then it will be worth every penny.????

Silver tongue... The British media have been seriously gagged and thus have become the laughing stock of the world. The McSpin machine has been working overtime to divert attention from the McCanns, and this government has a lot to answer for.

I think that if we have the technology to find Maddie, or at least shed some light on what happened to her, then it should be done. My only concern is; why do we not use this technology to find every missing child? why are the Maccans being treated differently?

I would also like to point out this; why is it that the British Media, Police and Government, have decided that the two neglect full Parents are innocent, when they are still suspects and there has been no trial or formal declaration of their innocence, if this was anybody else they would not have been able to leave Portugal, the social services would be more involved and the Government wouldn't have given a monkeys. The truth is that their publicity campaign has not just helped keep Maddie in the minds of the Public, it has become a political issue, thus policy shifs toward public opinion and not the facts of the case OR what is the best avenue to approach the case.

that is the last I say on the matter, for I feel that the public outcry of pro-Maccanns has stopped the truth coming clear, forever! I don't know if they had anything to do with their daughter going missing, but I don't think we as a country can sit in judgement of the Porto' police force, they obviously run their business without our help the rest of the time and I think it is arrogant to believe that they do not know as much as us, cause they don't do things the same way.

lastly, I am really annoyed at my daily paper, the daily mirror, for being so biased toward the Maccanns right from the start, they do not do this usually, they cant wait to put the boot in at the least sign of something funny going on, why why why, I don't understand this?

This technology sounds terrific. It can trace fishing boats the paper says, but that being the case how come it keeps missing boat loads of illegal immigrants coming from Africa. In Spain two months ago a whole boat load got to the shore and ran away before anyone knew what was happening. It´s all very well using satellite images but in Iraq the Allies still hit the wrong targets.

Surely, this can only work if a micro chip had been implanted previous to the abduction, if, indeed it was an abduction. But micro chips used at present for pets can only be detected by running a scanner over it, not by satelite. For it to be detected by satelite the chip would have to have its own power to send signals out strong enough to be received, as in a GPS. This means that the chip would be rather large. Just a thought!

No.I think Gordon Brown has more issues to attend to.
I am not saying the missing child Madeline is not important, but I feel this should be for all missing children and not just this particular child.
Sarah Payne wanted a Sarahs Law but this was not allowed.
If it had been who knows What the outcome would have been in Madelines case.
Is there really one rule for one and not another

You'd be as well using Google Earth.

EDIT: The government has no business interfering in a foreign investigation, never mind a home criminal case. Hasn't the home secretary taken enough flak for interfering in justice cases where he has no remit recently?

Plus it sets a dangerous precident. Use JARIC for Madeliene and you'll have hundreds and thousands of parents and families of missing people (justifiably) beating down No 10's door demanding to know why JARIC wasn't authorised to find THEIR loved ones but was for the media-courting McCanns.

If your going to allow it for one, you must allow it for all. And you cannot allow it for all.

Not to mention you're probably talking about taking already limited but vital armed forces resources away from struggling men and women who are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. Risking lives for a one in a billion chance that it might find a little girl's grave.

Come on.

Absolutely..She needs to be found and this case solved one way or another. The reply from silver tongue above mine says it all really and has made some seriously valid points in my opinion.

Who's gonna pay that? Aren't we losing the plot a bit?
Overreacting maybe?
What about millions of other children that they have clues they've just disappeared with a possible connection with Paedophilia traffic?
It's not more serious than 1 child that all indicates that she's dead?
I'm always not to loose your hope but we have to draw some boundaries.

Goodness knows, but I wish to God that they would find her as I still keep getting nightmares, and it is horrible, the whole thing is horrible!

I think they should use all available resources to find Maddy and everyone involved in her disappearance.
Then the perpetrator/s should feel the full weight of the law.

I think if this is a possibility then of course it should be used. If the technology is available to us then we should use it.

Might I also ask why it hasnt been used to find Bin Laden?
