well this is the first presidential race in a long time that has no incumbent or vice president running, so in that sense it is a open race that's for sure

It will come down to the major candidates from both parties. It looks pretty good that it will be Hiliary for the Dems and will be interesting to see how she fairs in a general election.

I disagree. There are some who are on the list of candidates with very little or no realistic chance at all of winning. There are 3 on each side that have any realistic chance at all. For the Democrats it is Clinton, Obama, and Edwards. For the GOP it is Giuliani, Thompson, and Romney. All the others will fall fast once the caucuses and primaries have been completed in January and February.

While I have a few candidates I dread might be nominated and can't stand the lying shriek of her voice I do think that no clear winner is evident at this time. There are a few that really don't have a chance but are there to take up space and hoping the few votes they have gathered will be worth something in trade later.
edit... Steve that was well said.

Yes. I think people allow the media to decide for them, saying so and so is the frontrunner. People need to vote in their primaries and not let the media or the party make their decision.

None of the candidates represent our views on important issues from either party, and therefore the voters don't know who to vote for. The forces of big-money seem to be closing off our choices for elected officials to keep their illegal immigrants, outsourcing, dependency on oil, and the War in Iraq.

especially when many candidates are not included in debates and polls (kucinich, gravel, green party, etc)
if you have no media exposure you wont get votes.

Nope, neither you or I could win it besides, I would NEVER want that job. I hate paperwork in my own business much less doing it for a whole country.
