I'm assuming this is scientific notation and the 10-2 is really 10 to the negative 2 power. In that case, all you have to do is move the decimal of the 4.8 to the left (negative) two places to get 0.048.

However, if it is not an exponent,you must follow order of operations and do the multiplication before the subtraction. You would get 48-2 = 46.

Mathematical answer is 0.048, i.e 4.8 divided by 10 to the power 2, i.e divided by 100, or if you prefer, 4.8 multiplied by 10 to the power minus 2, i.e multiplied by 0.01

A trick answer is 4.8 times 10 to the minus 2 !!, which is how you would read the expression out loud.

if you meant an exponent, 10ֿ²
then, if you cant use the proper symbol, a better way to show it is
