It's so true. Republicans also skipped the LOGO/HRC gay rights debate.

At this point Republicans are just trying to divide up California to get electoral votes instead of actually campaigning.

No real candidate should skip a debate if they are serious. but last night was something else. Think the GOP can still stand up and claim the high moral ground as they appear to be no more than racists.

September 27, 2007 - Baltimore, Maryland
PBS television hosted a Republican debate in Baltimore, Maryland at Morgan State University that aired live on PBS and on www.pbs.org.[34] [35] The All-American Presidential Forums are the first in prime time with a panel exclusively of journalists of color. Questions were asked by host Tavis Smiley and panelists Ray Suarez of The NewsHour, Cynthia Tucker of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and NPR's Juan Williams.

The debate was attended by Sam Brownback, Mike Huckabee Alan Keyes, Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter, and Tom Tancredo. The four leading Republican candidates, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, did not attend. These four were roundly condemned by the hosts and most of the participants, and the first few questions concerned the somewhat racist reputation of the Republican party. The organizers put empty podiums on the stage in the names of the candidates who refused to attend.

EDIT:
Hey eat me lib, are you always this stupid or is today just an exception?

Anytime a democratic politician is interviewed on FOX .....they are asked questions then constantly interrupted before they can even respond. They are also usually outnumbered 3 to 1....it's a setup. What reason would there be to think that a debate would be handled any differently by FOX ?

If you watched the Youtube debate, you know that the questions were screened only for profanity...not content. There were alot of heated republicans...ordinary people.. asking tough questions

Here's my take on the Republican debate.
Prescreened questions designed to let them talk alot without actually saying anything meaningful... like... "What is the one thing you would do differently in life if you had the chance ?"..."What is your favorite state and why ?"..."What is your favorite color ?"..."During the course of a normal day, how often do you look at the clouds ?"....

Pathetic....boring....and nothing to do with any of the issues.

Fox holding a debate is about the same as if the KKK would have a debate. The Dems wouldn't go to that one either. I'm sure you've heard all the racist things that corporation has put out against Obama. (Did you know his middle name was Hussein? and that his father was a Muslim? and in fact, he's too black, but not black enough?) With Obama on the ticket, it would be disrespectful to him for any other Democratic candidates to give this right-wing organization any level of validity.

Not sure what you are talking about? Dems are not invited to the Rep debates, and reps are not invited to the dems. The 2 parties do not debate each other until they have won their respective nominations.
As for the 'minority debate', the reps were invited late knowing the candidates already had commitments. This is an old trick of the dems.

The Reps skipped the debates for good reason: It was all about race and not about ALL Americans. The Dems skipped because they didn't want to be asked tough questions.

I was extremely disappointed that ALL FOUR of the top GOP candidates had 'scheduling conflicts' when it came to attending a minority-based debate.

Republicans want to know why minorities don't trust them, well, there it is.

This does not change my political views, but this does shed some light on why my people tend to vote for Democrats.

I still think Democrats are phony and are doing nothing for minorities but giving us hand-outs, but at least they ATTEMPT to address issues prevelant to us.

This is extremely disappointing.

The Repub's skipped the youtube debate??? You've got to be kidding me. I have been looking forward to seeing that one! If that is true, what a bunch of cowards!!! That just shows they aren't interested in swaying Dems to their side. Either their holier than thou attitude makes them think they have enough votes to win the Presidency or they fear they will make fools of themselves on national t.v.
