After you sign in the Medical Assistant will then take you to an area where they will weigh you, check your blood pressure, ask you about your history with any health problems, family history of different health problems such as Diabetes and Cancer, when the first day of your last menstrual period was. Then after that they will take you to a rom.

On the table there will be a gown, and a drape (these two are for if the doctor does a breast exam and pelvic exam, and pap smear at the same time, some primary care physicians prefer to let a gynecologist do the pelvic exam and pap smear) to put on. Then you sit and wait for the doctor to come in.

When the doctor comes in they will check your eyes, ears, listen to your heart and lungs, press on your abdomen to check the size of the liver and also check your liver. They will check other areas of the abdomen to make sure there is normal activity there like with the bowel. They will also take their stethescope to listen to that area to make sure no abnormal sounds are coming from there.

They will check the areas around your neck such as your thyroid to make sure nothing is out of the normal there. Then after that they may order some bloodwork to check for cholestrol levels and blood sugar and other things. Then after that is all done they may ask you to come back in about 2 weeks for results if something shows up, or call with the normal results or send that by mail.
