my sister-in-law has been taking the depro shot for about a year. she just called me and told me that she is spotting, kind of dark sporring as well. she doesnt want to call her gyno if it is not necessary so she has me doing research since she doesnt have internet acces at her job. can anyone tell me is this is common???

Its normal but if she is worried she should talk to her doctor.
I'd also try to convince her to get OFF that poison asap! TOO many women have horrible issues with the shot. There aren't enough people with good reviews to make me recommend it to anyone.

I was on it for four years and it was horrible!

I was on Depo for over 3 years. It was wonderful! I seem to recall that there was a possibilty of spotting. I would call the doctor either way. They could make her feel better very easily, or catch a problem early. Unfortunately, spotting is a part of life sometimes... Honestly, it is probably nothing, just a side-affect. good luck to your sister.
