We were on strike for 2 days and we have to be off 8 days in order to get strike pay. This is only 200 a week. We are not eligible for unemployment. We went back to work on Wednesday night at my plant. Usually with time off if we work within that week we get what is called short work week pay. It amounts to 80 percent of our pay for the hours in that week we didn't work. But under the case of a strike we are not eligible for this. So now that we're back we will only get paid for the 20 hours that we worked. The people who walked the picket line will not get there 200 because the strike didn't last 8 days. So the money doesn't stop but it is drastically reduced till they settle. Right now it is only ratified but the membership hasn't seen any information on what has been agreed to. After we get our information they will set up a day next week for us to vote. I'm not sure what will happen If the agreement gets voted down. But if ratified we will have a new national contract. Then starts the process of the local agreements.

Our elected officials are intentionally doing this to scare us into accepting their tax increase without a bi*ch. It is utter bs.
Both sides have hade 8 farking months to get this done, now they wait until the last possible minute and spread fear.
I hate them all. And keep this in mind, if we did our jobs as poorly as they do theirs, we would be FIRED.
I say fire the whole lot of them and start over. Our state is dying and no matter what they do they will be right back at this point again next year.
Because once they raise taxes (again), even MORE businesses will close their doors and leave forever. Idiots.
Will the last one out of Michigan, please turn off the lights?

I heard no on the unemployment thing, but it sounds like the only thing they are keeping is the state police and prison guards.
