Why? Sean is THE JAMES BOND. I know he is getting "up there" in age, but I say, "Slap the toupee on him and put him in a tux, he is still HOT". He is the only one who can believably karate chop 4 bad guys at once, sky dive out of a hole he just shot in a moving airplane (and safely because he activated the "handy dandy parachute cumber bun" that Q just gave him), and land in a deck chair on a huge white yacht next to a busty blond with a martini in her hand.
I have no objection to Pierce, he is great. But, he just isn't the James Bond that Sean is.
Daniel Craig is manly, and witty.
George Lazenby was forgettable.
Timothy Dalton is too "proper".
And Roger Moore is (in my opinion), the biggest wimp I've ever seen!

Sean Connery - because he's Sean Connery
Daniel Craig- He plays Bond more like the books than anyone.
Timothy Dalton - see Daniel Craig above
Pierce Brosnan - Goldeneye was a GREAT movie!
Roger Moore - played Bond as too much of a clown, but he was funny!
George Lazenby- I just didn't like 'Secret Sevice' as much as others.
Woody Allen - They should NEVER make fun of Bond! :(

A agree with pathfinder except I would reverse Roger Moore with Pierce Brosnan. Roger Moore was good, but not as good as Pierce, and of course, Sean Connery was the best, no question about that.
