Yes! Had a problem (Not a house fire) And could i find my insurance policy??? After that i became organised! I don't only know where my policies are but i have insurance company and phone number + policy number) In my phone book (By the phone) And in my diary just in case. Naturally i have never had any need for them since but all the same ... Better safe than sorry

Yes the smell of a burning gingerbread house would turn a few heads. Still never mind Hansel and Gretel might taste nice barbecued.

Anything important like that, we keep in a fireproof box. But I would know what the companies are anyway - going through the insurances every year is my most favourite job (NOT!!!)

Organize your paperwork and put it all on disc. Have it in an easy to grab place or off site somewhere (safe deposit box). That way taking a little time now will result in saving a lot later.

Fireproof safe, and it is at my office, so god forbid, if the house burnt down, everything would be easy to find. Not sure how easy if the office burnt down though, but I still have my memory and my advisor for back up.

Of course! I pay them extortionate amounts of money each month - you must know who your insurers are surely? It's not hard!
