So, all of the "reporters", and I don't mean the trolls, I mean the YA gay and lesbian regulars who sit on here for hours and hours and hours in the gay and lesbian section who have fun reporting people they "dislike" may find their own accounts deleted. So, if you're at Level 6 - better be careful because you'll get reported yourself for deliberatrrely trying to get a person kicked out of here. This should work for myself and Tracer quite well. :)

me too FTW. me too.
The flase reporting for random questions that are not appropriate at all, or are questions on sex life or sexuality that are reported will be listed as "improper reporting" by that person who reported the question.

you just contest it, and list it as false reporting on a queswtion that is perfectly fine, and then that person will be targeted for improper reporting and they will probably delete their account if it continues - so it will be nice to see these jaggoff's gone especially the ones with the level 6's and 7's. that would be nice.

Chaser_ It's the Da Ben Dan people who are a few of hte "reporters" actually. The ones who "why is this in this section?" and report you. then - they'll be reported for improper reporting. But, they usually target those they dislike and report them for anything. I already have fifity violations. I wonder who from??? LOL! Well, that will change.

Oberon - yes it does. They are "trolls" actuallym but they'll find their accounts deleted as well for harrassing other members with reporting.

It should be great! The responses to reported abuses certainly have gotten better. And I agree with FTW. Questions that are poorly worded, differences of opinion and non-sequiturs are one thing...if people don't like those kinds of questions, they can always ignore them (which is my personal strategy.)

But it's not hard to know the difference between a "reportable" offense vs. one that isn't. I think that seeing some of these idiots taken down for frivolous reporting will be a "posthumous" victory for people like Da Ben Dan, who were, I believe, the victims of such abuse, not just from trolls, but just people who didn't agree with them or anybody else with a different viewpoint.

Well, finally Yahoo institutes something to punish people who maliciously report things other than TOS violations. I guess all of us will be seeing fewer false "violation" notices - except those who continue to break the TOS, of course.

Asking if something is in the appropriate section is completely different than maliciously reporting something, and of course is not against the TOS.

They should do away with the reporting system and just make a over 18 section so we can talk about anything.

Hmmmmm.... Since I very rarely report anyone, it's all good by me. I only report nasty, naked, rude avatars, and anything that even hints of abuse against children. Different opinions intrigue me, sometimes I even learn something and that rocks!

I hope it stops people from getting thrown off for NO reason.

there are actually regulars here that will report people simply because they don't like them? doesn't that make them just as bad as the trolls?
