It's gone forever. For me, trying to make it work was like kissing a clump of clay. Cold and no emotion. It's gone forever.

I think that it is gone forever. Loving someone and being in love are two totally different things.

Sorry, luv...speaking from experience, here...
It never comes back...
The old feelings can be rekindled for brief moments by remembering them...but it's just stirring up the ashes of a dead campfire...and although it sometimes feels like "love renewed," it doesn't last long because the old reasons for falling out of love don't go away...it's like...
...grabbing on to a water-soaked piece of driftwood to prevent drowning...but that piece of wood starts to sink, so you grab onto another one...and then "rinse & repeat..."
Other answers may tell you they found "reborn love" with someone they fell out of love with...but their just fooling themselves...

Hi Lisa:
Sometimes what's over is over, and sometimes - usually when you least expect it - it creeps back again! Its happened to me a few times, yet ironically never quite worked out. The old ghosts return too to haunt you . . . Yet, for friends of mine it worked out well (so far after 20 years!) They were teenage sweethearts, split up soon after high school, went their seperate ways, met again in their mid 20's, fell in love again, got married, and the rest is history . . . So: who's to say!

IT depends on why you fell out of love. If you're in an abusive relationship and love dies, I don't think it can be rekindled. BUT if you just kinda let the spark die from being in a rut or routine, then I think you can ignite it again by getting out of that rut and adding some sparks!

I think it depends on the underlying reason why you fell out of love in the first place. Some things can be corrected or worked on- and in those instances, I can see falling in love with that person again.
However, in my experience- zebras don't change their stripes. For someone to change who they are has to start with that person, and if it's a guy- good luck with that one!

Never gone for ever , we born with love and pass with love .
life would be only hell without love , watch the birds on the nearby trees, or may be small kittens with their mom .

For me, where there is love, I will go to. Therefore I do not care about fallen out of love. Cause I will go where my guts feelings take me to.

I agree it always comes back. If it's meant to be, let it flow on it's on for a minute and if it's real, it's coming back in no time. It will be like it never left.
