In Korea it's illegal to do abortions, unless it imposes risks to the mother. At 15 weeks, which before I was told I was only 10 the physician said she could not do the abortion. I am in the army and the physician suggested I go the states and get it done before it is too late, I just did the math and If I don't leave by Oct 19th to get it done, I'll be at my 18th week, how far along in pregancy can abortions be done? I have already discussed this with my significant other and we both think it is the right descision, but being overseas makes it quite difficult. I know there is a certain time when an abortion can't be done, can someone please clarify this for me, I don't need any abortion bashers, because this is my choice which I have , and I need help, not people bringing me down. I'm already pretty stressed from this whole ordeal as it is, but It has to done based on my situation at hand. It didn't want this far, but at this point, I have no choice, because of korean law.

I am not paying for the trip to the states, overseas females who are pregnant have to go back to the states in a certain timeframe for the right medical facilities, not available overseas.

I believe there is a difference from one state to alother but here is some info on the federal ban in place. It's for a spacific procedure usually used from 18-26wks. There is no set time after which you cannot have an abortion by federal law.

Personally, I think anything after 12 weeks should be considered too late. I'm not going to bash you, but I truely think 18 weeks is far enough along that it would be considered murder. Have you thought about having the baby, giving it a chance at life, and then putting him/her up for adoption. Look into how much your baby has already developed and then decide what to do. I hope you do the right thing. Can you really live with yourself looking back 10 years from now knowing that you killed a baby? Good luck.

Edit - my mother had an abortion with her 1st child when she was 16. That was more than 25 years ago, but they told her she had up until 13 weeks to make her decision. That could be different these days. The only way to know is to talk to a doctor.

You do have choices.

You just don't like them.

You'd rather go through the expense of a plane ticket halfway around the world, hotels, meals, rental cars, and abortion fees-- rather than deal with a new life you have made.

You could consider placing the baby for adoption.

You could consider raising your child.

The option you're wanting to do the most is the most problematic of the three.

People have babies all the time in situations that are less than ideal. You're not so special.

Think some more.

I totally know where your coming from ...ok so ur about 4 mnths prego right? so taht means that your option of doing the pill is out the window ,meaning that ur going to have to do a scrape. i always thought taht you could get one done up til 3 mths. but in one of my biology classes in college i remeber my prof. sayign that you can do up to 5mnths i could be wrong but just in case find out on some sort of a website for example planparenthood.com ..lots of luck to you and remeber to rest after wards cuz ur going to need it,its a very difficult process to deal with both physucally and emotionally.everyone reacts differntly but when my friend got it done she was crying uncontrollably due to the anestetics,i guess thats just her bodies reaction. then again i know ppl that are perfectly fine afterwards. sending you tons of luck your way may God bless you !!!
