Because they are arrogant and stupid, just like Bush. I am glad they didn't come, because for once I got to hear what the other candidates had to say. I thought they all handled themselves quite well.

They have not courted the black vote for decades. The Republican party is not known for it's tolerance. This is just more evidence that they don't quite understand changing demographics.

I think it was outright disrespectful to people of color but I admire the ones who did come.

I'll still vote democrat, but at least the 5 who came showed character.

The debate didn't happen to fall within the limited spare time they all had. Interesting, isn't it?

Because 92% of black voters are going to vote for who ever the Democrat's candidate is no matter what. So it's pretty much a waste of time for a major Republican candidate to go to a debate just for black voters.

They think they will win more votes from their base if they show they do not care about minority issues. They are being honest, for once.

you don't need to debate to win.

You need positions.

(I remember Dems telling us that Kerry beat Bush handily in a debate. Funny thing is that Bush is president.)

Oh, Cheney kicked Edwards tail in their debate. Did you vote to put Cheney in office cause he was wonderful at the debates? I kind of doubt it.)

I feel sorry for people who don't know where the candidates stand without having to see them on tv. Very sorry.
