I am a democrat, mostly, but I am no fan of FDR. However if you look at what Stalin did to his people and the Russian Jews, he was no great man or leader. Definately FDR is better, but only by default.
The real leader of that time was Churchill!

Asians in America during WW2 would probably agree.
They were sent to concetration camps by FDR.
I'm not a fan of FDR, but Stalin was much worse on his people than FDR ever was.
A quick read of Gulag Archipelago will give a vivid idea of government gone bad.

If to lead by murder and terror instead of grace and intelligence is your sign of a better leader, well, what can I say. Stalin was one of the Big Three Evil Guys: Stalin, Hitler, Mao. Simply killing 40 million of your own countryment in both war and political purges (and starvation) does not a great leader make.

Stalin executed roughly 6 million people in Russia during the Purge. I think FDR was a better leader.

FDR did do a lot of lasting damage to this country, some that could aid in its demise but he still is not a bad as Stalin.

Well, only if you are looking at his record of how many oponents he murdered or incarcerated. To my knowledge, FDR didn't round up his enemies and send them to Alaskan work camps, but I might be wrong.
